Ministry of Trade and Foreign affairs of Brunei (MOFAT) announced the Brunei Darussalam
Government Scholarship (BDGS) 2020-2021 for international students.
Prospective international students are invited to submit application forms for the Brunei Government Darussalam Scholarship (BDGS Scholarship) for the academic session 2020-2021. With this scholarship opportunity, MOFAT is aiming to reward the deserving students who could get a chance to fulfill their dreams.
This scholarship will cover applicants' cost of undertaking a Diploma, Undergraduate Degree Program and Postgraduate Degree Program in the prestigious institute of higher education in Brunei. They can get themselves enrolled in any of the institutions stated below.
1) Politeknik Brunei
2) Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali
3)Universiti Teknologi Brunei,
Academic year: July-August
The following benefits will be offered to the recipient of BDGS 2020 as follow.
1. The Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarship (BDGS) holder will get an exemption from paying of tuition fees, acceptance fee, examination fee, registration fee and orientation fee throughout the degree program.
2) The recipient will be given an up and down air ticket (economy class) from his/her home-country to Brunei Darussalam and from Brunei Darussalam to home-country upon the completion of the degree program.
3)Monthly personal allowance of B$500.00 will be given to the recipient.
4)Monthly Food allowance of B$150 will be given to the recipient.
5) Yearly Book allowance of B$600 will be given to the recipient.
6)Free accommodation in the residential college of the Polytechnic or University will be given to the recipient.
7) For the entire scholarship duration, the recipient will get complete health insurance coverage.
Application Criteria:
1) Application are open all over the world including the nationals of Commonwealth, OIC and ASEAN member countries.
2) The applicant must have got a medical fitness certificate before his arrival by an experienced registered doctor.
3) The candidates must be 18 to 25 years old while applying Diploma and Undergraduate programs, and 35 years for the Postgraduate Master’s Degree programs as of July 31.
4) Application form should be downloaded and fill it in with credentials.
5) All the documents including application form should be attested by the ministry of foreign affairs from applicant host country.
6) Police clearance certificate/ Non criminal certificate from the police station.
7) The application forms should be sent to the mailing address at applyBDGS2018@mfa.gov.bn
8) Incomplete application will not be evaluate.
Terms and Conditions:
1)The applicant cannot hold any any other fellowship, scholarship, loan or grant without getting written approval from the Ministry of Trade and Foreign affairs of Brunei.
2)During the scholarship period no allowance (including accommodation) will be paid to the scholarship recipient for marriage, spouse or children.
3)Recipient of BDGS does not have the permission to carry out any paid job or to serve as the representative staff of any country in Brunei Darussalam.
4)The recipient of this scholarship must obey all the fundamental rules and regulations of Brunei Darussalam Government.
