Higher Education in China, Admission & Scholarship (Part-1) Basic Knowledge

Govt, of China announce Scholarship for International students each year for Bachelor, Masters and PhD program. International students can apply for the scholarship in two session stated below:

1) March Session 
2) September Session 

1)March Session: Limited universities are offering Admission and Scholarship programs in March session each year but CSC (China Scholarship Council) or CGS ( China Govt, Scholarship) is not available for march session as well as top ranked university also do not offer any scholarship and admission under March session. Only a limited University circular limited Fund for international students in March session.

Application deadline: August to December for next year March intake.

2) September Session: This is the main session for China Govt, Scholarship, this scholarship is operated by China Scholarship Council (CSC), so many of the students and researchers are known as CSC Scholarship in China. CSC is a prestigious Scholarship with a smart amount of stipend.

Application deadline: December to March each year. 

CSC Application is divided by two different Categories and the application process is a bit different but the stipend and other facility is absolutely same as it is.

i) Category A

i) Category A: If you want to apply for “A” Type Scholarship then you must apply through  Chinese Embassy in your host country or in some cases the Ministry of Forign affairs of your host country. If you are selected for the scholarship, Air tickets, monthly allowance/Stipend for the full study period, free accommodation in the Campus are provided by the CSC authority. Applicants must apply online. 

#Category "A" Type Stipend details are given below

a)Bachelor Program per month RMB 2,500

b)Masters Program per month RMB 3,000

c)PhD Program per month RMB 3,500

Note: Exchange Rate: (1 RMB= 0.14 USD Approximately)

ii) Category B: If you want to apply by university website directly then visit CSC official website at http://www.campuschina.org/ and you will find the application instruction CSC scholarship for Category B as well as other fund such as Private organization special fund, University Fund and so on. You are eligible to choose three different universities for CSC Scholarship application but for other funds such as University Fund and other organization fund there is no limitation for application. 

#Category "B" Type Stipend details are given below

a)Bachelor Program per month RMB 2,500

b)Masters Program per month RMB 3,000

c)PhD Program per month RMB 3,500
